The best restaurant I’ve ever been to…

I’ve been procrastinating this post for almost two weeks now because as lame as it sounds, I honestly didn’t know how to write about a visit to the best restaurant I’ve EVER been to.
I told Madeleine all about my visit to “Mraz & Sohn” and she said I sound as If I want to marry a restaurant. Well, I guess that somehow sums it up.

I never experienced such extraordinary creativity and excellent food at a restaurant, together with outstanding service.
Bread on a stick, a three-level cheese wagon, miniature fisch’n'chips, cotton candy with nougat inside and and and…
The list of exceptional servings seemed to be endless and with all these additional greetings from the kitchen everybody couldn’t help but being constantly amazed.
I never thought I would say so about a restaurant but I’m sure this would be a once in lifetime experience for everyone.
Still can’t believe that this restaurant is here in Vienna and that I’ve never heard of it before! Have you? Enough with all the wish-wash since words can’t describe it anyways – here you go with a massive picture overload including some explanations :)

Mraz & Sohn
Wallensteinstr. 59
1200 Wien

The menu, the water(!)-menu and the first two “lollipops”
Greetings from the kitchen and yes, even the water glasses are awesome!
The bread selection + poppy oil in a test tube
This dish was called “heart-fibrillation” and they painted a cardiogram with the sauce
These were sardines in a can – really served in a can before placed on the glass plate
My main dish. Btw no, that’s not a martini but a side order served in a glass :)
This one was called “New Kitz on the block”
Miniature Fisch’n'Chips ♥
Happy and amazed family faces
Instead of desert I always prefer cheese but usually they don’t have goat/sheep cheese. Not at Mraz&Sohn of course – Cheese heaven even if you’re lactose intolerant like me!!
The awesome three-level cheese wagon with 50 different kinds of cheese + various cans of side-cheese-dishes like olives. chutneys. nuts…
The rest of the family had deserts instead of cheese…
A sweet farewell from the kitchen!!
Of course coffee and sugar are served beautifully as well

Immernoch viel natürlich, aber erstaunlicherweise nicht mehr als in anderen top-restaurants und dafür gab es dann deutlich mehr food-entertainment ;)

Whoa, this needs to go on my list immediately. A splurge, I assume, but it looks so worth it!

Oh. Mein. Gott. Thanks for sharing!
