When we started thinking about where we would want to get married we realized we had to start from scratch. We knew we didn’t want a church and I’ve never been one of these girls imagining her dream wedding so basically we were open for a lot of styles, places and ideas.
We planned to visit many locations in and around Vienna but in the end, the second location that we saw immediately stole our heart. We got married at a winery overlooking Vienna, the ‘Weingut am Reisenberg’. It’s a quiet place on top of beautiful Vienna with a cute little garden, lots of brick walls and a very relaxed feel. The service was excellent and the whole planning process was just so exciting and a lot of fun.
It was important to us that everything would be kept very simple and that the focus of the evening would be on a wonderful celebration with our loved ones. We got married at 5pm since we wanted to have a nice summery evening wedding instead of a whole day of customs and traditions surrounding weddings.
The week leading up to the wedding has been terribly hot in Vienna and we were praying that we wouldn’t have to suffer from these high temperatures on our wedding day. In the end the temperature was just about right, it was a little stormy and we even got a spectacular thunderstorm over Vienna late at night.
