As long as I can remember I’ve been in search for the perfect beauty products for my super(!) oily yet sensitive skin.
Surprisingly I almost never had problems like spots or redness even though my skin is that oily but nonetheless it’s totally annoying if every blush looks stained after an hour or If every foundation is quickly running down your face.
So over the last 10 years I’ve tried a whole bunch of “anti-shine”, “matte”, “oil-free” products and in the end I came to think that “my” product still needs to be invented or that there is simply nobody else who has got such a strange combination of skin-types…
Since 2010 I’ve been therefore simply using dm’s Balea UREA series because value for money seemed good and my skin felt nice besides the usual oiliness.
One month ago I started a new trial run with La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar series which sounded really promising with its description for oily AND sensitive skin. All the products are soap-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free and paraben free and after four weeks of using three different products, I can say that my skin is considerably(!) less oily and that I’m truly happy about the whole new look and feel of my skin ![]()
Never thought that such an improvement would be possible so I’m definitely sticking to the Effaclar products for now!
Do you have experiences with oily skin or the Effaclar series?
Do you know any bloggers who wrote about a similar skin-”problem”?
Always seems to me as if most people rather have problems with too dry skin so I would be curious to hear if you also know any blog-posts about the opposite…
The Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for Oily and Sensitive Skin purifies the skin thanks to cleansing agents selected to respect sensitive skin. It eliminates impurities and excess sebum while leaving the skin clean and fresh.
The Effaclar K daily renewal fluid for oily skin transforms and smoothes the skin texture and prevents repeated pore-clogging.
You can apply it morning and/or night to the face and it’s an excellent make-up base!
Effaclar M Daily Mattifying Moisturizer addresses shiny, oily-prone skin. Your Skin is immediately hydrated with a matte finish and pores are progressively normalized and tightened to help prevent shine.

hi!
i have very oily skin as well (the whole ‘spots-program’ though) and am still searching for THE product… that means i barely stick to any products, because non of those all ever fulfilled my expectations.
still, i have 3 suggestions for you:
the best mattifying moisturizer i’ve tried so far is ‘lavera Bio-Minze’, but I wouldn’t go for the cleansing gel again.
a product i’ve been using for years (and i just realized: the only product i was ever loyal to for that long) is Clinique’s Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector –> refines your skin & no more shine for a few hours!
thirdly, about a week ago i started using diluted apple cider vinegar (1:1) as a toner. it works like a peeling and should renew my skin. it’s too early to see results so i will probably blog about it in a couple of weeks… hope this helps!
xoxo
Hi Sandra!
I always thought about trying the Clinique prodruct, so I will finally give it a try – thanks for your tipps
