Addicted to fresh juices/smoothies at the moment – have you been to Rauch’s Juice Bar?

It’s always exciting when something new opens up around your neighborhood so over the last weeks I monitored closely what was happening along the Wienzeile close to Viennas Nachmarkt because the place already looked promising while they were renovating.
Finally, two weeks ago the new restaurant of TV-Cook Simon Xie Hong opened its doors and with “On Market” he now runs his third restaurant in Vienna. The interior is impressive; huge windows, high ceilings and the colorful yet sophisticated overall design look beautiful and welcoming.

More important than architecture and design of course is the food! We shared some Dim Sum as a starter followed by the iberico pork and lamb (I’m am huge sucker for lamb but usually you don’t come across lamb on the menu very often).
The meat was great and very well seasoned! Portions aren’t too big so you might want to have some starters. My lamb was very spicey and had a lot of fennel seeds and star-anise in it – which I loved! One thing that undermined the overall positive experience a bit was the very slow service. The waitress was really friendly but unfortunately rarely seen and we had to wait quite some time for our drinks to arrive.
However, they just opened so let’s be gentle – I’m sure they will see me soon again

Temperatures are slowly getting summerlike but we’re also still facing some cold & rainy transitioning days where it’s hard to decide what to wear and how to dress accordingly. A few days ago I discovered Irinas Blog ‘A portable package’ and although her blog is great overall I especially fell in love with the way she is wearing black nylon socks with high heeled pumps. I always loved that look and even tried it myself from time to time but usually you don’t see this look very often. So tell me, am I alone with my opinion or did you pull the black nylon pumps combo yourself?

I never thought we would see a comeback of white shoes but let’s face the facts – it’s happening.
Even more surprising that I’m actually starting to like some of the relaxed boyfriend jeans + white pumps combos, so that I’m seriously considering to jump on the bandwagon I’m not sure If I would be ready for white pumps but I would sure love me these simple sandals from asos in combination with a funny sweater and this cool denim blouson from Zara Kids(!). I think I don’t need to say anything about the white skirt/shorts from Zara since you might have seen them on maaaany other blogs – maybe the first must have item of this summer?

A few weeks ago (I know, I know, long time no see but I’m kinda busy with wedding stuff – excuse enough?) I’ve been invited to this years edition of the Vienna Awards for fashion & lifestyle. It was my first time at the Vienna Awards and I loved it! You don’t get many chances to wear a floor lenght dress after prom night, so take my advice and use every single chance you get ladies.
For the next year I’ll also know that it’s safe and not a problem to bring my camera with me

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you enjoyed some relaxing days at home with your loved ones and great food
We decided to make a delicious Bouillabaisse instead of the traditional Easter lamb and it turned out great! We’ve tried it for the first time and I have to say it was way more easy than I expected. It’s such a joy to mix all the ingredients and herbs because it smells heavenly right from the start (Fennel & Pernot are essential to it!) and it really doesn’t take much time to make.
Try for yourself and let me know how it turned out!

What you’ll need (serves 4-6 people):

Fish stock (1.2 liter)
Veggie Stock ( 0.75 liter)
White wine (1 glass, use some that you would wanna drink with the soup afterwards)
Pernod (2-3 shots)
Chopped tomato (1 can)
Fennel (1.5 pieces)
Carrots (8-10 medium sized pieces)
Celery stalks (4-5 stalks)
Zucchini (1 piece)
Leek (1-2 pieces)
Onion (2 pieces) & Garlic (5 cloves)
Salmon (0.5 kg)
Codfish ( 0.5 kg)
Zander (0.3 kg)
Prawns (0.25 kg or 25-30 pieces)
Thyme (1 tablespoon)
Fennel tea (1 bag)
Bay leaves (2 leaves)
A little Dill
Salt, Pepper, Chili to taste

1. Stew chopped onions and garlic in olive oil, add all the neatly chopped vegetables (except Zucchini) and let them stew together for some minutes until everything is slightly glazed. Deglaze with wine, stock and pernod, add the teabag, Thyme and bay leaves.
Let everything cook until the vegetables have the stiffness of your preference.

2. Add the Zucchini, chopped tomatoes and season everything with Salt & Pepper, Chilli. While the delicious soup is boiling (not bubbly) you can chop the defrosted(!) fish into palatable bites and slightly salt it.
Cautiously lay the fish onto the soup surface (don’t stir!) and let it brew with closed lid for 5-10 minutes, until the fish is done.
Add the prawns a little later than the fish, they’ll only need a few minutes to be ready.

3. (optional) Bouillabaisse is traditionally served with a so called rouille, a mayonnaise made of olive oil, garlic and cayenne pepper on grilled slices of bread. I already made rouille in the morning and used it as a delicious soup topping, served with simple slices of toast.

As we visited Berlin the other day, we had the most amazing time at Café Schmitz.
Once you had a coffee with a the super-fresh and tasty cake of the day, then don’t forget to take a look at the tasteful selection of artsy, yet practical items. I’m convinced that you’ll find something inspiring for your place.

We’re beyond happy and super excited for everything that is about to happen in the future and I still can’t believe that I get to call this amazing man my fiancé! I have more fun with him than I have with anyone else and I’m so lucky that I get to marry my best friend and love of my life!

Slowly, I’ve finally managed to prise myself away from the Champagne for long enough to start making some plans and do some blogging again!
And omg there are so many things to be done! When are we getting married? Where are we getting married?
What’s our budget? And, when can I start wedding dress shopping?

As a kickoff to all the wedding stuff that is going to happen, we forced Madeleine to take some cheesy engagement pics of us when she was in town the other weekend and like always she did a hell of a job! I never had so much fun taking pictures in my whole life and the result really warms my heart! I love that you can even see in the pictures how happy we are and how Madeleine perfectly captured colors and lighting of that day! I can’t thank you enough Maddie, you’re my favorite Panda photographer of all time – also the outtakes of the shoot still crack me up

I’ve been stalking this H&M silk blouse for quite some time now and tadaa I finally got my hands on it during sale season and have been wearing it almost non stop since then! The bag from Benetton is another great sale find for just 19€?! I love its simplicity!
Btw Benetton is one of these stores where somehow I usually never set a foot in but when they have these days with 70% off, I always end up with the loveliest bargains
