Gear Guide

Figuring out what kind of equipment is necessary for this parenting journey can be a daunting process. Meg sums it up quite well :D

Tis’ the season for Overknees

Hoegl Overknees (6 of 7)

Over the last couple of years I’ve become quite picky when it comes to the quality of my shoes because especially in Winter it’s crucial to have some nice quality boots that keep your feet warm and dry. Overknees are a big thing this season and I was happy about a shoe trend that would actually keep my legs warm, can be matched with thick woolen socks and can easily be dressed up or down. The fact that Overknees will even work well with a fancy Christmas dress and are still comfortable when you’re nine months pregnant (watch for a zipper at the side unless you want to wear them for the rest of your pregnant life) make them worth an investment, don’t you think?

However, the tradeoff between not too much of an investment (say good bye to Stuart Weitzman) and not compromising on good quality at the same time turned out to be quite a challenge here in the US. Maybe I’m not familiar enough with all the brands/shops yet but all of the Overknees that I looked at/ordered online were either suuuper expensive, not made of leather or looked more like biker boots.

Sweater Dresses

You heard my ode to cozy sweater dresses in this post but you currently don’t own any of these daytime PJ’s? Well, let COS help you with that. They usually have the best selection and quality in sweater dresses and I can only speak for myself when I think they’re a timeless classic. Read More >

Ready for fall?

Ready for fall

Are you ready for fall?
If not, here is a little inspiration for some basic pieces.
I already bought these black ankle boots from H&M a few weeks ago and I’ve been wearing them almost every single day since then.
They’re incredibly comfortable since the height – and the price tag – are just about right ;)

The grey wool coat is one of the ‘fashion hero’ pieces by Timm Süßbrich and I loved that coat when Claudia Schiffer was wearing it! Did you see the show? Unfortunately it sucks big time but at least the show tempted me to buy one of their pieces. Gotta give them that…

Shopping Sunday

Posted on: Sunday, September 15, 2013

Sundays are for online shopping. It’s never the plan but here I am, it’s not even noon, but two pair of shoes are on their way to me – whoops. I also stumbled upon this gorgeous Etsy seller called “Activate Apparel” and found myself browsing all their super awesome shirts for hours.

Sometimes they seem to took the words right out of my mouth since I don’t work out but do watch hardcore Netflix for example ;) I still couldn’t decide on a shirt but maybe you can?
Have a nice Sunday you all!

I never thought we would see a comeback of white shoes but let’s face the facts – it’s happening.
Even more surprising that I’m actually starting to like some of the relaxed boyfriend jeans + white pumps combos, so that I’m seriously considering to jump on the bandwagon ;) I’m not sure If I would be ready for white pumps but I would sure love me these simple sandals from asos in combination with a funny sweater and this cool denim blouson from Zara Kids(!). I think I don’t need to say anything about the white skirt/shorts from Zara since you might have seen them on maaaany other blogs – maybe the first must have item of this summer?

Shopping Spree

Posted on: Monday, March 4, 2013

You survived Monday? Reason enough to treat yourself with a little online shopping, right?
Here are some items that are currently on my wishlist ;)
No clue where the idea came from but I imagine the classic b/w Adidas tee to go sooo well with all kinds of simple blazers, denim outfits and maybe even with those awesome printed trousers from H&M! The beautiful coat is from Zara and would be a very nice addition to my collection.
(I tend to gather all kinds of coats and jackets just like other women are crazy about bags – unfortunately coats take up way more closet space than bags :)) The cute little H&M shoulder strap bag would have the perfect everyday size in my opinion, what do you think?

Green Christmas

Posted on: Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Last weekend the lovely people over at Green Rabbit gave me my very first living Christmas tree!
Green Rabbit is an upcoming garden design and landscaping company that is specialized in designing and building family gardens, balconies and terraces but also offers pretty innovative products such as a “living Christmas Tree” or a “Plant Subscription”.

My living Christmas tree was brought right to my door and once Christmas will be over I can either plant it in my garden (If I would have any) or Green Rabbit picks it up again and replants it at the tree nursery :) This is our very first Christmas tree here in Vienna and I wanted it to be as colorful as possible in contrast to the traditionally decorated tree that we always have at home in Germany. What do you think?

If you’re still looking for a nice Christmas gift for a special person, why not give someone a Plant-Subscription voucher? It works like a magazine subscription but instead of a boring Vogue, the presentee can choose a different plant every month and in December he/she can therefore also go for a living Christmas tree for example! Sounds cool, right?
With the code W012PUGS01 you can have a -10% discount and you’re done with your Christmas Shopping in the blink of an eye ;)

Current Favorites

Some of my current favorites – there you go!

  1. Summer goes, fall comes but the tan always stays ;) This is my favorite self-tanner for quite some time now. I’ve tried a lot of different ones but this one isn’t sticky at all and doesn’t smell. I mix it with my daily moisturizer for a softer finish.
  2. Another Parndorf bargain – clear sunnies from the Mango outlet for just 5,99€.
  3. I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow but I love very matte and simple colors like this one from Mac – the name is Coquette
  4. I was looking for a simple, non branded leather purse and found this one at COS. Now all my cards and coins are in one place with a one simple zipper.
  5. I’ve been a big fan of the L’oreal Glam Shine series since they really do stay 6h or more, but nevertheless they are a bit sticky. When I received three samples of the new Shine Caresse Lipglosses I admit I was doubtful at first. It’s hard to describe but they’re neither a lipstick nor a gloss. They seem liquid and light but don’t let that fool you! The colors are strong and totally lasting! I became a huge addict and I really use them everyday – give them a shot and see for yourselves!
  6. Autumnal sun is still harmful to your skin so I will go on using this mattifying sunscreen from Bioderma. It’s a sunscreen that feels really light and hasn’t got the usual stickiness.
  7. A pastel pendular necklace from H&M – simple and beautiful.

Parndorf Treasures

Posted on: Monday, September 24, 2012

Some weeks ago I was able to spend a wonderful girls weekend with three of my friends visiting from Germany.
When there was a rainy day in Vienna we decided to visit the Designer Outlet Parndorf and we weren’t disappointed!
I scored these beauties for 35€ instead of 140€ and now I will be able to glitter through fall ;)
